EIAS 2011 room acoustics seminar
- the latest knowledge in room acoustics

Saint-Gobain Ecophon organised the 6th Ecophon International Acousticians´ Seminar in Sweden (September 21-22). A great variety of speakers from many different countries communicated the latest knowledge connected to room acoustics and the effects of sound on people.

Most speakers and participants were acousticians or other professionals working with different aspects of sound and acoustics.

Sustainability and green buildings

Sustainability has become a principle of living. This does not only relate to recycling of materials and reduction of emissions etc. but also acoustic quality matters. The workshop, chaired by Peter Rogers, highlighted the relevance of acoustics in sustainability and its' role connected to green building certifications or ratings.

Auralisation session

This workshop, chaired by Peter Svensson, covered recent research in the field of room acoustic simulations and auralisations. There were four key-note presentations that highlighted interesting topics and applications in the field. These presentations inspired good discussions during the workshop.

The hospital gives acoustical challenges that affect both patients, staff and the hospital as a business facility. The aim of the workshop, chaired by Kerstin Persson-Waye, was to discuss the challenges of the hospital soundscape and how they can be addressed.
