The New Zealand Acoustical Society

The New Zealand Acoustical Society is delighted to invite you to attend the International Symposium on Sustainability in Acoustics (ISSA 2010) being held in Auckland, New Zealand 29-31 August 2010.

ISSA 2010 is a symposium on sustainability for researchers, practitioners, legislators, and local body officers in the areas of acoustics and noise control. The symposium is conjoint with the biennial conference of the New Zealand Acoustical Society and in tandem with the 20th International Congress on Acoustics (ICA 2010) being held in Sydney.

Speakers

The Symposium sees an exciting range of highly esteemed International Speakers, including Dr. Felipe Gaitan, a pioneering researcher and discoverer of single bubble sonoluminescence, and Dr. Trevor Nightingale, group leader in acoustics at the National Research Council of Canada.

Attending ISSA 2010 is also the perfect opportunity to discover for yourself why Auckland is one of New Zealand’s best destinations. Auckland’s waterside location has fostered the locals’ love affair with the sea, earning its nickname ‘City of Sails’. The city beats to a Polynesian rhythm, its people a melting pot of European, South Pacific, and Asian Cultures. This diversity brings with it an abundance of unique dining and shopping experiences.

Auckland’s temperate climate, easy access to the coast and variety of activities will provide the perfect setting for your NZ experience.

To ensure you have the opportunity to register as an earlybird and visit our shores for yourself we have now extended the earlybird registration date to:
Midnight, Wednesday 14 July

So be in quick to secure your place at ISSA 2010!
Further information, the full programme and online registration are at: http://www.issa.acoustics.ac.nz/

We look forward to welcoming you to Auckland in August.
James Whitlock
ISSA 2010 Co-Chair
