Coffee chain premises noise data gathered by Soundprint

2024-05-21 by Colin Campbell

This interesting noise survey can help inform those looking for coffee chain premises which are most conducive for a good conversation. Crowdsourced data has been gathered by the pioneering Soundprint in the USA via their Soundprint App measuring the sound levels when customers visit with the App activated.

Rolling data can inform consumer sound preferences

Overall, the coffee chain SoundCheck data shows very interesting trends. These can  inform which premises and the times of the day which should be avoided if you are looking for a conversation space.

Soundprint highlights that most notably, a renowned large coffee chain is simply one of the loudest, perhaps due to its popularity. However, Soundprint suspect this is also due to a lack of focus on acoustic design.

Or could it be that they focus on a higher turnover of customers, who are not looking for a comfortable conversation space?

What is the advice for coffee consumers who prefer quieter spaces for good conversation

The coffee chain noise data gathered can help coffee consumers pinpoint the best days and times to visit enable better speech communication.

The rolling data shows different user patterns. Some have typically busy and noisy times between 8-9am and 3-4pm. So, if you want to schedule a meeting and value the conversation, perhaps there is quieter alternative nearby.
